Kristen Alexis (Kris) Lacsamana is a Filipina-American visual artist based in Providence, Rhode Island. With a passion for visual arts cultivated in both in the United States and the Philippines, Kris is currently pursuing a Painting major at Rhode Island School of Design with a concentration on Theory and History of Art and Design.
Kris's artistic exploration is guided by a profound appreciation for art history, color, and conceptual strength. Recognizing the importance of learning from masters, Kris believes that studying their processes and styles can enhance one's own artistic skills. Drawing inspiration from artists throughout history, Kris imbues her work with deeper meaning. Her paintings often revolve around personal stories and cherished memories, incorporating imagery from Filipino culture and her close circle of friends. Gouache and oil paint are her preferred mediums for creating these meaningful pieces.
